This dataset contains summary information on the status of authorizations under Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Permit Decision Guarantee Policy that were outstanding in July 2017. The data maintains July 2017 as a baseline and shows DEP’s progress to issue or deny that specific group of authorizations. This was highlighted in DEP’s January 2018 Permitting Reform White Paper - located here:

The radon mitigation database keeps track of when mitigation has occurred at locations and of the levels of radiation reduction achieved. The data derived in the State of Pennsylvania is published and searchable online on the www.pa.gov website. This data will be updated annually for the prior calendar year in the first Quarter of the following year.

PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Water Quality Network Station Location and Samples Data submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through the National Environmental Information Exchange Network for the national STORET data warehouse. Includes Monitoring Station location data and sample results from 2008 through June, 2017.

PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Radon Test Result Data provided to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through the National Environmental Information Exchange Network as requested, to State and Nationally Authorized Trading Partners. Data includes Radon Test Results measured value, test type, building location (where test was performed), county, city, zip code and date test was completed. Includes data from 1989 through March, 2017.

CEMS is a database used by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to monitor key pollutants and/or operational parameters to demonstrate compliance with emissions standards or operational criteria as stipulated in a plan approval, operating permit, or order.
The owner or operator of a source may be required to install and operate a PA DEP certified continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) to satisfy a condition in a plan approval, operating permit, or order. CEMS data is used to demonstrate compliance with emissions and data availability standards. Generally speaking, a CEMS is the total equipment necessary for the determination, collection, and reporting of a pollutant or parameter in the applicable units of measurement. It includes the measurement interface, all necessary measurement devices and associated calibration and data handling apparatus and procedures. Systems are evaluated on an individual basis and the PA DEP does not maintain an approved list of equipment.

Most of the CEMS related activity takes place in the CEM Data Processing System (CEMDPS). Regulated entities construct work items in the CEMDPS that are submitted to the PA DEP for review. The owners or operators of PA DEP certified CEMS are required to submit emissions data to the Department through the CEMDPS each calendar quarter. The PA DEP reviews the emissions data and generates a report which is provided to the owners or operators of the regulated source. The hourly emissions data submitted by the owners or operators of the source will be reviewed by the PA DEP and ultimately provided to the public through the Open Data Porta on the www.pa.gov website. This data will be updated quarterly.

The information included in this dataset is for the Governor’s Executive Budget and provides key Program Measures by Agency or Office.

This data shows DEP’s performance under the terms of its Permit Decision Guarantee Policy. All authorizations that have time frames listed in Appendix A of that Policy are grouped by program and by fiscal year. Trends in the column “Disposed on Time” reflect DEP’s progress toward the aspirational goal of 100% of received permits processed on time.
The data shows actions that occurred in each fiscal year. For example, it shows the number of applications received in that year and the number disposed in that year. If an application is received in one year and disposed in the next year, then it will be counted in “Received” for the first year and in “Disposed” for the next year.

This is a yearly aggregated measure.
